Ultrashort vs Standard-Duration Dual Antiplatelet Therapy in Acute Coronary Syndrome Patients Undergoing PCI: A Meta-Analysis

This meta-analysis aimed to compare the efficacy and safety of ultrashort (≤1-month) dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT) versus standard-duration DAPT in acute coronary syndrome patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention. The findings indicated that ultrashort DAPT did not increase the risk of major adverse cardiac and cerebrovascular events while significantly reducing major bleeding, particularly in East Asian patients; however, an increased risk of adverse events was noted in patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction. The study highlights the importance of DAPT duration and abbreviation strategies in managing ischemic and bleeding risks in this population.
