Combined results of the TETON-1 and TETON-2 Trials of Inhaled Treprostinil for Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis

Listen to this summary

The authors aimed to evaluate the efficacy of inhaled treprostinil in slowing lung function decline and improving clinical outcomes in patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) by analyzing combined results from the TETON-1 and TETON-2 trials. The study found that treprostinil significantly reduced the rate of decline in forced vital capacity and delayed clinical worsening compared to placebo, with additional benefits observed in quality of life and other secondary endpoints. These findings support the use of inhaled treprostinil as a treatment option for IPF patients.
