Our Story

Built by a Physician,
for Physicians

Named after Sir William Osler, the father of modern medicine and champion of lifelong learning.

Meet the Founder

Ryan Stewart, DO

Dr. Ryan Stewart is a practicing physician and the founder of OSLR.AI. He conceived the idea for OSLR in 2017 while completing his fellowship, when he realized that even as someone deeply committed to evidence-based practice, there simply weren't enough hours in the day to read all the relevant journal articles being published.

"If I was struggling to keep up, I knew my colleagues were too," says Dr. Stewart. "I wanted to build something that would let physicians stay current without sacrificing their limited personal time."

What began as a concept had to wait for the technology to catch up. Over the years since Dr. Stewart first envisioned this solution, advancements in artificial intelligence, natural language processing, and text-to-speech technology have evolved to make OSLR.AI not just possible, but remarkably effective.

Origin

Why OSLR?

The name OSLR is inspired by Sir William Osler, widely regarded as the father of modern medicine. Osler championed the idea that physicians should be lifelong learners — a principle that is more challenging than ever in an era when thousands of new medical studies are published every week.

OSLR.AI was born from a challenge that many medical professionals face daily: keeping up with the overwhelming volume of new research while maintaining busy clinical practices. The gap between what's published and what physicians can realistically read continues to widen.

I realized that the solution had to fit into time physicians already have — commutes, workouts, walks. It had to be audio-first, concise, and personalized to the journals that matter to each physician.
