Fertility-sparing surgery for a patient with a pre-operative suspected diagnosis of a Uterine Smooth Muscle Tumor of Uncertain Malignant Potential (STUMP): A case report

The authors explore the feasibility of fertility-sparing surgery for a patient with a suspected Uterine Smooth Muscle Tumor of Uncertain Malignant Potential (STUMP), highlighting the case of a 34-year-old woman who underwent a myomectomy instead of a total hysterectomy due to her desire for future fertility. Despite initial concerns regarding the tumor's malignancy, follow-up imaging revealed no abnormalities, and final pathology confirmed a benign diagnosis. This case suggests that myomectomy without morcellation may be a viable treatment option for patients with STUMP who wish to preserve their fertility.
