The Surgical Challenge of the Repeat Sacrocolpopexy

The authors aimed to address the lack of clear guidelines for surgical retreatment following the failure of sacrocolpopexy (SCP), the standard procedure for pelvic organ prolapse repair. They reviewed literature on repeat SCP, finding that laparoscopic sacrocolpopexy was the most common reoperation technique, with high short-term success rates and low reoperation rates. The study highlights the need for further research with longer follow-up to better understand the management of SCP failures.
