Factors Affecting Difficulties Faced by Women During their First Year of Clean Intermittent Self-Catheterization

This study aimed to identify the factors influencing the difficulties women face during their first year of clean intermittent self-catheterization for lower urinary tract dysfunction. The authors found that the absence of complications, the use of a commode sitting position, longer duration of self-catheterization, and increased daily frequency were associated with fewer difficulties and better quality of life outcomes. These findings highlight critical aspects that may improve the self-catheterization experience for women.
