Varying In-Person Coaching: Effects on Weight and Urinary Incontinence in Women with Obesity in a 20-Week Randomized Controlled Trial

Listen to this summary

The authors aimed to investigate the effects of varying levels of in-person and online individualized exercise coaching on urinary incontinence (UI) and weight outcomes in low-active women with obesity. Although all groups experienced weight loss, the study found no significant differences in UI prevalence or severity among the coaching groups compared to the control group. The low adherence to pelvic floor muscle training (PFMT) and lack of supervision were highlighted as potential factors contributing to the lack of improvement in UI symptoms.
