A Randomized Trial of Two Lightweight Polypropylene Meshes for Sacrocolpopexy

The authors aimed to compare the surgical success of two ultra-lightweight polypropylene meshes used in laparoscopic sacrocolpopexy for treating apical pelvic organ prolapse. In a randomized trial involving 106 participants, they found that both mesh types demonstrated similarly high surgical success rates and low recurrence of symptoms over a two-year follow-up period. The study concluded that minimally invasive sacrocolpopexy significantly improves pelvic floor symptoms, regardless of the mesh used.
