Randomized Trial of Percutaneous Versus Transcutaneous Tibial Nerve Stimulation in The Treatment of Refractory Overactive Bladder: Results From The TRANSPER Trial

Listen to this summary

The authors aimed to compare the clinical efficacy of transcutaneous tibial nerve stimulation (TTNS) versus percutaneous tibial nerve stimulation (PTNS) in treating patients with refractory overactive bladder (OAB). The results showed that both TTNS and PTNS significantly improved symptom severity and quality of life without significant differences between the two methods, suggesting that TTNS could serve as a viable home-based treatment option to alleviate the healthcare burden associated with OAB management.
