Minimally invasive surgery without a uterine manipulator versus open radical hysterectomy for early-stage cervical cancer: A retrospective propensity-score-matched single-center cohort study

This study aimed to compare the oncologic and perioperative outcomes of minimally invasive radical hysterectomy (MIS-RH) without a uterine manipulator to open radical hysterectomy (O-RH) in patients with early-stage cervical cancer. The results indicated no significant differences in disease-free survival or overall survival between the two surgical approaches, though MIS-RH demonstrated several advantages in perioperative metrics such as reduced blood loss and shorter hospitalization. However, the authors caution that the shorter follow-up period and limited mortality data necessitate further investigation to confirm these findings.
