Renal Resistive Index Responsiveness to a Mean Arterial Pressure Test As a Guide for Mean Arterial Pressure Target in the Early Phase of Septic Shock: A Physiological Study

This study aimed to determine whether changes in renal resistive index (RRI) during a mean arterial pressure (MAP) test could guide the selection of MAP targets to improve renal function in patients experiencing early septic shock. The findings revealed that while RRI responders did not show improved renal outcomes with higher MAP targets, RRI nonresponders experienced increased urine output at elevated MAP levels, suggesting that RRI may help identify patients who could benefit from higher MAP interventions.
