Endometriosis and long-term risk of venous thromboembolism: a Danish nationwide study
Listen to this summary
This study aimed to investigate the long-term risk of venous thromboembolism (VTE) in women with endometriosis compared to a matched control group without the condition. The findings revealed that women with endometriosis had a significantly higher incidence of VTE, with an adjusted hazard ratio of 1.52, indicating a notable association between endometriosis and increased thrombotic risk. These results underscore the need for heightened clinical awareness regarding thrombotic complications in women with endometriosis.
