Bruton's tyrosine kinase inhibitors and cardiovascular risk: a meta-analysis

This meta-analysis investigates the association between Bruton's tyrosine kinase inhibitors (BTK-I) and the risk of incident non-fatal ischaemic major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) in adults with B-cell malignancies. The study, which included data from 17 Phase 3 randomized controlled trials, found that BTK-I exposure significantly increased the risk of non-fatal ischaemic MACE, with a risk ratio of 1.66. These findings highlight the cardiovascular risks associated with BTK-I treatment, emphasizing the need for careful monitoring in affected patients.
