Dynamic Circulating Tumor DNA Methylation Monitoring Guiding Postoperative Surveillance in Nonmetastatic Colorectal Cancer: A Prospective, Randomized, Phase III FIND Trial

The authors of the FIND trial aimed to determine whether a dynamic surveillance strategy guided by circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) methylation could enhance the rate of curative-intent therapy for recurrence in patients with nonmetastatic colorectal cancer following curative resection. The results indicated that the ctDNA-guided approach significantly increased the rate of curative treatment and led to earlier detection of resectable metastases compared to standard monitoring, although recurrence rates were similar between the two groups. These findings suggest that ctDNA-guided surveillance may improve outcomes, pending further validation of long-term survival benefits.
