Longitudinal Change in Cardiac Function After Doxorubicin and Dexrazoxane: A Report From Children's Oncology Group ALTE11C2

The authors aimed to determine the long-term effects of dexrazoxane on left ventricular (LV) systolic function in childhood cancer survivors treated with doxorubicin, particularly in larger populations. Their findings indicate that dexrazoxane is associated with preserved LV function and a reduced incidence of cardiomyopathy, suggesting it may also lessen the need for intensive cardiomyopathy screening in high-risk patients.
