An analysis of the outcome of 2,443 women applying to be donors at a commercial egg bank in the USA

This study investigates the recruitment process for egg donors at a commercial egg bank in Florida, analyzing the acceptance rate and reasons for rejection among 2,443 applicants. The findings reveal that only 2.5% of applicants were accepted, with most being lost due to not meeting eligibility criteria or withdrawing from the process, and that the initial choice regarding ID-release status did not influence acceptance or rejection outcomes. The research highlights the challenges of egg donor recruitment compared to sperm donor recruitment at the same clinic.
