Meningococcal B Vaccine to Prevent Neisseria gonorrhoeae Infection

Listen to this summary

The authors aimed to determine whether the four-component meningococcal serogroup B vaccine (4CMenB) could reduce the incidence of Neisseria gonorrhoeae infection among men who have sex with men (MSM) at high risk for gonorrhea. In a randomized, placebo-controlled trial involving 654 participants, the results showed no significant difference in the incidence of gonorrhea between the 4CMenB group and the placebo group, indicating that the vaccine did not provide protective efficacy against N. gonorrhoeae infection.
