Vesico-Vaginal Fistula Repair Using Pneumovesicoscopy: A Single Tertiary Care Center Study

Listen to this summary

This study investigates the efficacy and outcomes of pneumovesicoscopy (PV) compared to laparoscopy (LA) for repairing simple to intermediate vesico-vaginal fistulas (VVF) in female patients. The authors found that PV resulted in significantly shorter operative times, reduced blood loss, and shorter hospital stays, while maintaining comparable success rates to LA. Overall, the findings suggest that PV is a safe and effective minimally invasive technique for VVF repair.
