Stigma Profiles and Psychosocial Correlates Among Women with Pelvic Organ Prolapse: A Latent Class Analysis

Listen to this summary

This study aimed to identify different stigma profiles among women with pelvic organ prolapse (POP) and explore the psychosocial factors associated with these profiles. Through latent class analysis of data from 308 women, the authors identified four stigma classes and found significant differences in age, education, comorbidities, psychological health, and perceived social support among them. The findings suggest that stigma is heterogeneous in this population, indicating a need for tailored psychosocial support interventions for those at higher risk.
