Validation of a Novel Point-of-Care Ultrasound Method for Estimating Central Venous Pressure in Critically Ill Patients

The authors aimed to validate a novel ultrasound-based method for noninvasive estimation of central venous pressure (CVP) in critically ill patients and to compare its performance with traditional invasive measurements. Their study found a moderate correlation between ultrasound-estimated CVP and invasive CVP, with the ultrasound method demonstrating favorable performance characteristics, although the agreement with invasive measurements was limited. The results suggest that this ultrasound technique could serve as a useful complementary tool in clinical settings.
