Intralesional Corticosteroid Therapy for Refractory Hyperkeratotic Vulvar Lichen Sclerosus: A Case Series

The authors aimed to evaluate the clinical response and safety of intralesional corticosteroid therapy in adult patients with refractory hyperkeratotic vulvar lichen sclerosus after excluding neoplasia. In a case series of three women, all patients achieved complete clinical resolution within four months, with significant improvements in their Vulvar Quality of Life Index scores and no reported adverse events during follow-up. The study suggests that intralesional triamcinolone may be an effective treatment option for this condition, though limitations such as the small sample size and lack of a control group are noted.
