Heterogeneity in Risk of Recurrent CIN2+ Among Women With Genotype-Specific HPV Detected After Excision: A Cohort Study

The authors aimed to evaluate the recurrence risk of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia grade 2 or worse (CIN2+) following conization, specifically in relation to post-treatment HPV genotype, timing of HPV detection, and cone margin status. They found that early detection of HPV16 was associated with the highest recurrence rates, while other high-risk HPV types and HPV-negative results showed significantly lower risks.
