Their systematic review and meta-analysis found that absorbable sutures and sutureless techniques are associated with significantly lower odds of overall complications compared to their counterparts, although the evidence quality was very low. They call for larger randomized controlled trials to establish definitive surgical guidelines due to potential biases and limitations in their findings.
