Investigating the Association Between Atrial Fibrillation and Out-of-Hospital Cardiac Arrest: A Danish Nationwide Matched Cohort Study

This study investigates the association between atrial fibrillation (AF) and the risk of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA), while accounting for shared risk factors such as ischemic heart disease and heart failure. The findings reveal that AF patients have significantly higher risks of both OHCA and all-cause mortality compared to non-AF patients, suggesting that AF is an independent risk factor for OHCA.
