A small pilot trial of virtual group cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia in gynecologic oncology patients

Listen to this summary

The authors aimed to evaluate the feasibility and acceptability of virtual, small-group cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I) in patients with gynecologic cancers. The pilot trial found that the intervention was feasible, with 60% of participants attending multiple sessions, and resulted in a significant reduction in insomnia symptoms, as measured by the Insomnia Severity Index. These findings suggest that virtual CBT-I could be a valuable approach to managing insomnia in this patient population.
