Olvi-Vec oncolytic immunotherapy and reversal of platinum resistance in ovarian cancer

Listen to this summary

This study aimed to evaluate the effects of the oncolytic vaccinia virus Olvi-Vec on the tumor microenvironment and its potential to reverse platinum resistance in ovarian cancer. The authors found that combining Olvi-Vec with cisplatin led to significant antitumor effects in a mouse model and demonstrated clinical benefits in heavily pretreated patients, including improved progression-free survival and changes in immune and gene expression patterns associated with enhanced chemotherapy sensitivity.
