The association between dietary acid load and endometriosis: a case-control study

Listen to this summary

This study aimed to investigate the association between Dietary Acid Load (DAL) and the odds of developing endometriosis among Iranian women. The findings indicate that higher DAL, measured by Potential Renal Acid Load (PRAL) and Net Endogenous Acid Production (NEAP), is linked to increased odds of endometriosis, suggesting that dietary modifications to reduce acid-producing foods may lower the risk. Further research is needed to confirm these results and explore the underlying mechanisms.
