Cardiovascular outcomes in individuals with ovarian cancer: A retrospective cohort study

Listen to this summary

This study aims to investigate the association between ovarian cancer and the subsequent risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD) in female patients. The findings reveal that ovarian cancer patients have a higher incidence of major adverse cardiovascular events compared to matched non-cancer controls, with a particularly pronounced risk in those under 55 years of age. The authors suggest the need for further research to understand the underlying mechanisms linking ovarian cancer and increased CVD risk.
