Circulating extracellular vesicle long RNA profiling combined with machine learning unveils novel diagnostic signature and molecular features in chronic pancreatitis

Listen to this summary

The authors aimed to develop a non-invasive diagnostic model for chronic pancreatitis (CP) using long RNA profiles from circulating extracellular vesicles (ExLRs) and to characterize the molecular features of CP. They successfully constructed the ExLRCPdscore model, which demonstrated high accuracy in detecting CP, including early-stage cases and those without significant symptoms or imaging findings. This study highlights the potential of ExLRs as both diagnostic tools and for understanding the pathophysiology of CP.
