Maternal, pregnancy, and neonatal outcomes associated with surrogacy: a scoping review

This scoping review aims to summarize the maternal, pregnancy, and neonatal outcomes associated with gestational surrogacy and to evaluate how these outcomes vary based on clinical protocols, such as oocyte source and embryo transfer type. The findings indicate a wide range of pregnancy and live birth rates, miscarriage rates, and maternal complications, suggesting that diverse clinical practices may impact health outcomes. The authors call for further research, particularly prospective, multicenter studies, to better understand these variations and their implications for maternal and neonatal health.
