In-Hospital Cardiac Arrest in Impella-Supported Cardiogenic Shock: Insights From the J-PVAD Registry

Listen to this summary

This study aimed to compare 30-day mortality outcomes among patients with in-hospital cardiac arrest (IHCA) during Impella-supported cardiogenic shock and to identify factors associated with mortality in this population. The findings revealed that IHCA patients had significantly higher mortality rates compared to those without cardiac arrest, and several clinical factors, such as elevated lactate and creatinine levels, were linked to increased mortality risk. The study highlights the need for early risk stratification in this high-risk group to inform clinical decision-making.
