Aspirin Omission at the Time of Primary Percutaneous Coronary Intervention in STEMI

The study aimed to evaluate the safety and efficacy of omitting aspirin during primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) by comparing low-dose prasugrel monotherapy to dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT) with aspirin. The results indicated that prasugrel monotherapy was not noninferior to DAPT regarding the composite outcome of death, stroke, or myocardial infarction at 12 months, although it was associated with a lower rate of major bleeding.
