Pulmonary Denervation for Heart Failure-Related Pulmonary Hypertension

The authors aimed to determine the clinical effects of pulmonary-artery denervation in patients with pulmonary hypertension associated with left heart disease and heart failure. In a multicenter, randomized trial, they found that patients receiving pulmonary-artery denervation in addition to guideline-directed medical therapy experienced significantly fewer instances of clinical worsening compared to those receiving medical therapy alone, suggesting that denervation may be a beneficial intervention in this population.
