Targeted Use of Computed Tomographic Coronary Angiography in Acute Chest Pain

This study aimed to determine whether targeted use of computed tomographic coronary angiography (CTCA) in patients with suspected acute coronary syndrome, after ruling out myocardial infarction, could reduce the risk of subsequent myocardial infarction or cardiac death compared to standard care. The results showed no significant difference in the incidence of these outcomes between the CTCA-guided management group and the standard care group after a median follow-up of 3 years. Thus, routine CTCA did not provide a benefit in this patient population.
