How to Manage the Spinoglenoid Notch Cyst: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis

Listen to this summary

The authors aimed to evaluate the optimal management strategies for spinoglenoid notch cysts, comparing outcomes of various operative approaches. Their systematic review and meta-analysis of 32 studies found that arthroscopic decompression with labral repair resulted in the lowest recurrence rates and favorable patient outcomes, while both arthroscopic and open techniques provided effective pain relief and functional recovery. The study suggests that for nonloculated cysts, arthroscopic methods are preferable, whereas larger or loculated cysts may require open decompression.
