This study aimed to evaluate the impact of preoperative anxiety on the incidence of arthrogenic muscle inhibition (AMI) 21 days after anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction. The findings revealed that patients with high preoperative anxiety had a significantly higher rate of AMI compared to those with lower anxiety levels, suggesting that assessing anxiety preoperatively could inform targeted interventions to improve recovery outcomes.
