Diagnostic Value of Airway Ultrasound for Obstructive Sleep Apnea-Hypopnea Syndrome and Its Incremental Value Over the Neck circumference, Obesity, Snoring, Age, Sex score: A Case-Control Study

This study investigates the diagnostic performance of airway ultrasound parameters for obstructive sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS) and assesses their added value over the NoSAS score. The findings indicate that tongue-base thickness (TBT) is a strong independent predictor of OSAHS, and combining ultrasound measurements with the NoSAS score significantly enhances diagnostic accuracy. Overall, the study suggests that airway ultrasound could be a valuable, non-invasive tool for improving screening and triage for OSAHS.
