Phase 2b Trial of a Na_V1.8 Inhibitor for Acute Pain

The authors aimed to evaluate the efficacy of LTG-001, a selective Na_v1.8 inhibitor, in reducing moderate-to-severe pain following abdominoplasty compared to placebo and hydrocodone bitartrate-acetaminophen. The results indicated that high-dose LTG-001 significantly reduced pain scores and opioid consumption compared to placebo, demonstrating its potential as an effective treatment for acute pain management. However, the high-dose group also experienced a higher incidence of certain side effects, such as pyrexia and presyncope.
