Amyloid PET Quantitation and Centiloid Thresholds in the Diagnosis of Alzheimer Disease: An Individual Participant Data Meta-Analysis

The authors aimed to establish robust Centiloid positivity cutoffs for amyloid PET scans to improve the diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease. Through an individual participant data meta-analysis of 49,227 participants from 53 studies, they identified a single positivity cutoff of 18 Centiloids and a double-cutoff approach indicating high confidence in interpreting scans as negative below 11 Centiloids and positive above 26 Centiloids. Their findings suggest that scans within the 11 to 26 Centiloid range require cautious interpretation, depending on the clinical context.
