DOAC Score Among Patients Receiving Vitamin K Antagonists

This study investigates the effectiveness of the DOAC Score in assessing bleeding risk among patients with atrial fibrillation who are treated with vitamin K antagonists (VKAs). The authors found that the DOAC Score provided better risk stratification for major bleeding compared to the HAS-BLED score, demonstrating moderate discrimination in both clinical trial and registry settings. Overall, the findings suggest that the DOAC Score is a valuable tool for identifying patients at varying levels of bleeding risk while on VKAs.
