Efficacy and safety of vaginal native tissue repair for pelvic organ prolapse across frailty levels

Listen to this summary

The authors aimed to evaluate the 1-year outcomes of vaginal native tissue repair for pelvic organ prolapse (POP) across different levels of frailty in women. Their retrospective cohort study found that postoperative lump sensation and voiding difficulty were uncommon and comparable among frailty groups, suggesting that frailty did not significantly impact these outcomes in functionally independent patients. However, the authors caution against generalizing these results to more frail or medically high-risk populations.
