Testosterone Treatment in Prostate Cancer Survivors With Hypogonadism: A Randomized Clinical Trial
Listen to this summary
This randomized clinical trial aimed to evaluate the short-term safety and efficacy of testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) in prostate cancer survivors with symptomatic hypogonadism. The study found that TRT significantly improved sexual activity, sexual desire, well-being, body composition, and physical function without causing biochemical recurrence of cancer. These results suggest that TRT may be beneficial for men with low-grade prostate cancer post-radical prostatectomy, although further long-term studies are needed to assess safety and recurrence risks.
