From clinician to educator: An evidence-based guide for APRNs transitioning to academic roles: The PEIS Model

This article addresses the critical nursing faculty shortage in the U.S. by exploring how Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs) can successfully transition from clinical roles to academic positions. The authors present the PEIS Model, a four-phase framework that offers evidence-based strategies for overcoming challenges related to pedagogical competencies, role expectations, and establishing a scholarly identity, thereby enhancing the capacity and sustainability of nursing education.
