Coronary CT Angiography versus Intravascular Ultrasound Guidance for PCI.

Listen to this summary

This randomized noninferiority trial asked whether PCI planned with coronary CT angiography (CCTA) is as safe and effective as IVUS-guided PCI in 1,105 patients with stable revascularization indications and CCTA-derived FFR of 0.80 or less. At 12 months, target-vessel failure occurred in 4.1% of the CCTA-guided group versus 4.6% of the IVUS-guided group, meeting the noninferiority criterion (risk difference -0.42 points, margin 4.5 points). CCTA-guided PCI was therefore noninferior to IVUS-guided PCI for target-vessel failure, though superiority was not shown.
