Anbenitamab plus HB1801 for HER2-Positive Advanced Breast Cancer.

Listen to this summary

In this phase 3 randomized trial in China, the authors asked whether anbenitamab (a HER2-targeted bispecific antibody) plus albumin-bound docetaxel (HB1801) improves progression-free survival over the standard docetaxel, trastuzumab, and pertuzumab (THP) regimen in HER2-positive advanced breast cancer. Among 885 patients, the anbenitamab combination significantly prolonged 24-month progression-free survival (58.5% vs. 34.4%; HR 0.46) and produced a higher objective response rate (87.6% vs. 73.4%). Grade 3 or higher adverse events were more frequent with the anbenitamab regimen (45.9% vs. 34.4%), with neutropenia the most common, though fatal adverse events occurred at similar rates in both arms (2 patients each).
