AI feedback for clinician assessment of umbilical and middle cerebral artery Doppler ultrasound: a multicenter randomized trial.

Listen to this summary

This multicenter randomized trial tested whether AI-generated visual and textual feedback improves clinicians' accuracy in assessing standardized umbilical artery and middle cerebral artery Doppler ultrasound images, using 96 clinicians across five Danish hospitals. AI feedback raised overall accuracy from 62.3% to 75.0%, with significant gains for both novice and experienced clinicians. Novices were more likely than experienced clinicians to follow incorrect AI advice, highlighting the continued importance of clinical experience.
