Abdominal CT findings on the day of death in patients with solid organ malignancies

The study aimed to identify abdominopelvic CT findings associated with imminent death in patients with solid organ malignancies. The authors found significant increases in pleural effusions and anasarca on CT scans performed within 24 hours of death, while other imaging and laboratory parameters showed no significant changes. These findings suggest a potential role for CT imaging in predicting imminent death, although further validation is needed.
