Spectral CT predicts initial bleeding risk in cirrhotic patients with esophagogastric varices

The authors aimed to develop a noninvasive multiparametric model using spectral CT metrics, venous morphometrics, and clinical biomarkers to predict the initial bleeding risk in cirrhotic patients with esophagogastric varices. Their study identified six independent predictors and demonstrated that the integrated model significantly outperformed individual predictors in accuracy, achieving an AUC of 0.912. This nomogram offers a promising tool for clinicians to assess bleeding risk in this patient population.
