Early liver parameter increase after transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt (TIPS): hepatic vascular risk factors and development of an exploratory prediction model

The authors aimed to investigate early laboratory changes following Transjugular Intrahepatic Portosystemic Shunt (TIPS) and their association with hepatic vessel diameters, as well as to develop a prediction model for identifying patients at high risk for excessive liver parameter increases. They found significant post-procedural increases in liver parameters, which were negatively correlated with the diameters of hepatic vessels, and developed a prediction model that identified key risk factors, achieving good predictive accuracy. This model may assist in optimizing post-procedural management for high-risk patients.
