Testicular shear-wave elastography in adult varicocele: associations with semen quality and clinical parameters

Listen to this summary

This study aimed to investigate the relationship between testicular shear-wave elastography (SWE) and semen quality in adult men with left-sided varicocele. The findings revealed that SWE-derived testicular stiffness was significantly associated with semen abnormalities, particularly on the left side, suggesting that while SWE can provide valuable functional insights, it should be interpreted alongside traditional clinical assessments rather than used as a standalone marker of varicocele severity.
